Reflecting the significant budget cuts in the public sector, APComm has made it easier and cheaper for communications professionals working within the police family to access its network and benefits.
All forces in Great Britain are invited to join on behalf of their media and communications staff, registering the individuals in those teams who become members.
Forces pay a rate according to their size, varying from £150 a year for smaller forces, rising to £200 a year for larger forces and £350 a year for the largest, metropolitan forces.
Organisations which support the delivery of frontline policing — members of the wider ‘Police Family’ - invited to join at a flat rate fee of £200 extending benefits to their communications teams.
Note: Once membership has been confirmed, members will be asked to complete their registration which will enable them to access the secure Members’ Area and a greater range of information and benefits.

The police service is facing change on an unprecedented scale. Structures, services and the way business is done across the criminal justice sector will be affected as budget cuts prompt a reassessment of priorities.
Doing things differently will become business as usual as management teams grapple with the complexities of maintaining frontline services and protecting the public from harm with fewer resources.
This is a big task for our communications teams who will need to keep people inside and outside their organisations informed of what’s happening and how it affects them at the same time of finding efficiencies themselves.
APComm provides a network of professional communicators , most of whom will be facing similar issues. These can be aired, shared and problem-solved together.
None of us is as good as all of us!
Specifically, APComm has organised itself into an executive team which has leads for all the key disciplines in corporate communications The heads of these areas will be keen to share best practice from around the country through events and through postings on this website.
